[Satellite TODAY 02-18-11] O3b Networks appointed Steve Collar CEO effective March 7, succeeding Mark Rigolle who heads back to SES after completing O3b’s latest $1.2 billion financing round in November, O3b announced Feb. 17.
    Collar joins O3b from SES World Skies, where he served as senior vice president of business and market development. Collar oversaw SES’ long-range strategic planning activities and was instrumental in the operator’s investment in O3b Networks.
    "Having completed the financing of the business, I am pleased to be returning to SES with O3b on a solid footing to move forward. In reaching financial close, securing the customer base, renegotiating major vendor contracts and building the O3b organization, I believe the company now has the foundation it needs to execute its business plan," Rigolle said in a statement.
