[Satellite TODAY 06-14-10] AST has released a value-added services offering to support and complement Inmarsat’s IsatPhone Pro global handheld satellite phone, AST announced June 11.
     The AST offering includes extended warranty options, two-stage dialling, quarterly and annual plans, as well as hardware and airtime packages.
“We believe that the IsatPhone, with its must-have capabilities, together with AST’s complete service package provides customers with the ultimate combination from the trusted provider,” Mark Sykes, AST’s director of airtime said in a statement.
    Separately, AST has introduced it will offer Inmarsat’s 176k streaming service over BGAN. AST’s point of presence now supports content delivery services, which aim to maximize efficiencies of the new 176k service and broaden the appeal of BGAN streaming to national and regional media organizations.
