[Satellite TODAY 09-15-09] Verimatrix, a company best known for its deals in the IPTV content security space, has signed its first pure satellite content protection deal with a TV operator in Asia.
    “The operator wanted to upgrade its content security platform to offer a more flexible and broader array of revenue generating services. We feel this deployment is significant because it proves software-based content security architecture can successfully extend into satellite networks,” Verimatrix CEO Tom Munro told Satellite TODAY.
    The deal and deployment, yet to be formally announced, is a significant one Verimatrix as it looks to expand from its traditional IPTV roots.
