[Satellite Today 07-30-09] Information technology and managed network services provider Artel won $61.1 million in contracts in the first half of 2009, according to the company’s financial reports released July 29.
    The contracts included follow-on awards and new task orders for the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Department of Homeland Security, among other public sector clients.
    "We have generated great momentum as we continue to support our public and private sector customers with their telecommunications, [information technology] and information assurance requirements around the globe,” Abbas Yazdani, president and CEO of Artel, said in a statement.
    Artel said it completed 2008 with $215 million in revenue, a 19 percent increase from the previous year and a record high for the company.
