[Satellite Today 06-05-09] OmniGlobe Networks has completed its acquisition of R. A. Misener Telecom Corp. (RAMTelecom), based in Ottawa, Canada, OmniGlobe announced June 4.  The acquisition was announced in December and has been approved by the boards of each company.
    "The RAMTelecom acquisition fits perfectly with our business expansion strategy of delivering broadband and cellular services to remote and rural communities and enterprises around the world," said Jason Neale, OmniGlobe’s founder and CEO, in a statement.
     RAMTelecom’s satellite activities will be combined with OmniGlobe’s satellite-WiMax and broadband business to become the new broadband communications division. Its mobile satellite phone activities will be combined with OmniGlobe’s satellite-cellular activities to become the new cellular communications division
    As part of the acquisition, Gilles Desmarais, president and CEO of RAMTelecom, will be appointed OmniGlobe’s North American vice president of sales and marketing for both of the new divisions.
