[Satellite Today 02-16-09] Starling Advanced Communications is introducing its StarCar antenna system for land vehicles, the company announced Feb. 13.
The StarCar self-contained antenna system features RF and electronics housed directly on the antenna. Starling said that the unit can be installed on any emergency vehicle for critical communications or for homeland-security contingency planning, as it allows for the instant creation of a communications infrastructure during times when the land-based network backbone is inaccessible.
The StarCar solution leverages Starling’s multi-panel antenna (CoMPATM) technology, providing performance of up to 40Mbps, facilitating voice, streaming Internet and video and the transmission of other types of heavy files.
Starling also offers a full line of Ku-band antennas, including its Mijet Family line of airborne antennas.
“We’re leveraging our extensive experience with airborne antennas to provide the fastest, most reliable, and cost-efficient ‘broadband on the move’ land system available,” said Jacob Keret, Starling’s vice president of marketing and sales. “Our products are the end result of the decades of experience of our managers and engineers, so we’re poised to become the industry leader.”
