Australia Network, the Australian Broadcasting Corp.’s international TV channel, has acquired additional capacity from Intelsat under a renewal of its multiyear contract, the Fixed Satellite Services announced Dec. 19.
Australia Network will use the additional capacity to expand its reach beyond its existing Asia-Pacific footprint to include cable neighborhoods in the South Asian region served by PAS-10. The additional capacity also positions Australia Network to move into new markets in the Middle East and India.
