Arrowhead Global Solutions Inc. signed a master service contract with Xtar LLC to market and lease X-band capacity to U.S. and allied government agencies, Xtar announced April 10.

Xtar, a joint venture between Loral Space & Communications and Spain’s Hisdesat, provides X-band communications services using the Xtar-Eur and Xtar-Lant satellites, which provide coverage from Denver to as far east as Singapore. In the United States, X-band capacity is reserved for use by the government.

“Our agreement with Arrowhead further expands Xtar’s network of valuable sales channels to reach a multitude of agencies within the United States and other allied governments,” Denis Curtin, Xtar’s COO, said in a statement.

Arrowhead is one of three U.S. companies that hold a Defense Information System Network Satellite Transmission Service-Global (DSTS-G) contract awarded by the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency. The contract vehicle allows the government to procure commercial satellite bandwidth and services.
