SSPI To Host Feb. 15 Briefing On Media Programming’s Transition To Digital
The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) is hosting an evening reception and briefing on the media’s transition to digital programming. The briefing will examine what satellite operators can do differently to service the evolving media client as well as what the satellite industry can do to overcome regulatory and other hurdles that could cause problems with a seamless transition to digital services. Confirmed speakers at the event include Clint Stinchcomb, senior vice president and general manager of Discovery HD Theater and VOD at Discovery Communications and Jon Romm, president of media and entertainment solutions at Intelsat. Speakers from CNN, XM Satellite Radio and Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLC also have been invited to participate in the briefing.
The briefing will be on Feb. 15 at Intelsat’s Washington, D.C. office, staring at 7:00 p.m. A networking reception will be held at 6:00 p.m. prior to the start of the briefing.
