AMC-12 Arrives In Kazakhstan For Feb. 3 Launch
SES Americom said its Americom-12 (AMC-12) satellite arrived in Baikonur, Kazakhstan and will be undergoing final preparations for its Feb. 3 launch by International Launch Services on a Proton/Breeze M rocket.
AMC-12, according to SES Americom, is a Spacebus 4000 spacecraft and is the first of this platform’s latest generation built by Alcatel Space. It is a high-powered C-band satellite that will operate from 37.5 degrees West. It will carry 72 transponders organized into three regional beams: North America, South America and Europe/Middle East/Africa. The satellite will support broadcasting and Internet data traffic.
