Following the discovery of glitch in the Thaicom 3 satellite that could result in that bird’s failure, Satellite Today discovered that Shin Satellite PLC is pushing plans to launch its Thaicom 5 satellite ahead by four years, to 2006. According to reports, Shin is considering three companies – Aeropatiale, Boeing Satellite Systems and Space Systems/Loral – to build the satellite.
