AVC Confident Satellite Broadband Will Be A Success

By Staff Writer | August 13, 2004

Frank Tyler, AVC Broadband‘s managing director, is confident that the satellite broadband provider can make an impact in the U.K. broadband market place. AVC Broadband is part of AVC Wireless Networks, which specializes in the provision and maintenance of wireless and satellite networks. AVC launched its service earlier this year, and it wants to attract consumers in U.K. areas where cable and DSL services aren’t available.

While acknowledging that there are some misgivings about satellite broadband, Tyler thinks they can be addressed. He told Satellite Today, “We will overcome any negative perception in satellite broadband by getting a critical mass of customers. Once you have got those, and they’re happy, things will be fine. We already have a very low churn rate.”

An exclusive in-depth interview with Tyler appears in the Aug. 16 issue of Satellite News. For more information about subscribing to Access Intelligence’s satellite newsletters, check out our Web site at https://www.satellitetoday.com
