EchoStar Communications Corp. [DISH] teamed with a RadioShack franchise to convert approximately 600 municipally owned cable customers in Center, Colo., into Dish Network’s direct-to-home satellite television subscribers. The conversion follows a vote by the town government to shut down its city-run cable service rather than pay about $500,000 to upgrade its facilities.
