Irdeto Access, which claims to be one of the leading suppliers of Conditional Access solutions to satellite and cable pay-TV operators, signed a partnership deal with Essent Kabelcom, the second largest cable operator in Holland. Essent serves around 1.7 million households in Holland, and it is implementing a new business model that aims to boost the rollout of digital cable television in that country.

Irdeto will become part of that new market development business model, playing a key role in content security on the new platform.
