SpaceX launched a new satellite for SiriusXM over the weekend, launching the SXM-11 mission on Sunday evening. The new satellite will be the highest power satellite in SiriusXM’s fleet.

SpaceX launched the SXM-11 Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellite on a Falcon 9 launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on June 28. The mission launched at 10:25 p.m. ET and lasted just over 34 minutes.

“As the most powerful high-powered satellite in SiriusXM’s fleet, SXM-11 will help enhance signal reception, expand coverage in Alaska, and support the delivery of audio entertainment and information services across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, SiriusXM said in a statement.

SiriusXM ordered the satellite in a two-satellite deal with Maxar Technologies in 2022 that included SXM-12. Maxar Technologies is now part of Intuitive Machines after the acquisition closed earlier this year. The SXM-11 satellite is built on the 1300-class platform.
