[Via Satellite 04-26-2016] Sky Perfect JSAT announced May 4 as the intended launch date for the JCSAT 14 satellite. SpaceX is providing the launch using a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

JCSAT 14, a communications satellite with Ku and C-band beams, will replace JCSAT 2A at 154 degrees east longitude. The satellite will provide Ku-band coverage over Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, and extends coverage beyond Asia and Oceania into Russia and several Pacific Island nations in C band.

Space Systems Loral (SSL) built JCSAT 14 on its SSL 1300 platform and delivered the satellite in March. The company is also building JCSAT 15 and JCSAT 16, both of which are slated for 2016 launches.
