[Satellite TODAY 10-16-12] Evert Dudok will serve as Astrium Services CEO effective immediately, as former CEO Eric Béranger switches to CEO of Astrium Satellites in an effort to increase cooperation and collaboration between the two divisions, Astrium announced Oct. 15.
The two Astrium divisions are working together along with the European Space Agency (ESA) and their partners on the future European Data Relay System (EDRS). According to Astrium, the swap aims to increase the company’s competitiveness in the satellite and space service markets by enhancing its technical and commercial capability.
Evert Dudok was named head of Astrium Space Transportation in 2005 and was promoted to CEO of Astrium Satellites in 2007. In Germany, Dudok will continue to represent Astrium along with his duties as German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) Vice President. He will also lead industrial coordination with Cassidian.
In 2003, Eric Béranger founded Astrium Services and currently serves as European Satellite Operators’ Association (ESOA) Chairman since 2011.
