[Satellite Today 01-20-09] Thuraya, a commercial agreement with Connect Telecom, a longstanding Thuraya distribution partner, to distribute its ThurayaIP service, the company announced Jan. 18.
Connect Telecom intends to promote ThurayaIP to target segments such as non-governmental organizations, corporations, government, the construction industry, the marine sector and the media and newsgathering agencies.
ThurayaIP is a broadband solution with a transmission speed of 444 kilobits per second (Kbps). It also has video streaming capacity in the market that functions at a speed of 384 Kbps.
