World Communication Center (WCC) is offering its 2006 Hurricane Kit for purchase by customers in high-risk areas for hurricanes or other natural disasters. The portable kit contains a Kyocera SS66K satellite phone, includes a six-month warranty or optional 12-month extended warranty, and requires purchase of airtime with rates as low as $1.20 per minute.

In a Sept. 13 release, WCC, a subsidiary of Satcom Group, announced availability of the kit priced at $899.99, or 40 percent below its regular purchase price of $1,495.
