Gilat Satellite Networks Unit, New Edge Networks Ink Wholesale Deal

      Petah Tikva, Israel-based Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. [GILTF] announced its U.S. subsidiary, Spacenet, signed a wholesale agreement that allows New Edge Networks to offer Spacenet’s Connexstar satellite service as its newest broadband product.

      Connexstar provides commercial-grade, always-on broadband connectivity to multi-site enterprises of any size. The service supports a wide range of business applications, including high-speed credit authorization, in-store licensed music, distance learning, content multicasting and secure private networking services – all through a single, remote access device with advanced networking and routing.

      New Edge will offer Connexstar throughout the United States and Canada. In addition, New Edge will bill and collect from its customers, while Spacenet will provide, install and maintain broadband satellite systems on behalf of New Edge. New Edge further intends to market and sell Connexstar services directly through its agents and its reselling partners, and the company is accepting orders.
