Dulles, Va.-based ORBCOMM LLC (ORBCOMM), a global satellite telecommunications company, reached agreement with Micad Marine LLC (Micad) to provide global data communications services in connection with Micad’s MICAD NET Service.

MICAD NET is a global vessel monitoring and alarm system that fully integrates with Micad’s Cruise by Wire databases. By using the latest satellite technology, provided by ORBCOMM, MICAD NET allows the commercial and government workboat industries as well as all sizes of private vessels, to deliver near real-time vessel and fleet data from anyplace in the world to any computer in the world, including handheld devices.
