SpaceX will start Starlink service for RVs and other moving land vehicles in December, the company announced Tuesday.

In-motion use requires a new flat, high-performance terminal, which costs $2,500, according to the order page. The standard terminal is $599. Service is $135 per month. SpaceX said the high-performance terminal can be permanently installed on a vehicle and is resilient for harsh environments. The company is pitching the service for RVs, and the accompanying images show Starlink terminals mounted on RVs, but SpaceX Chief Engineer Elon Musk also tweeted the service will work on any moving land object

Starlink RV is currently available for order and use in select markets, with deliveries beginning in December.

“The new Flat High Performance Starlink allows users to enjoy high-speed, low-latency internet while in-motion. With a wide field of view and enhanced GPS capabilities, the Flat High Performance Starlink can connect to more satellites, allowing for consistent connectivity on the go,” the company said.

Starlink now has five different types of services — residential, business, RV (mobile), maritime, and aviation. Just last week, SpaceX unveiled Starlink Aviation, saying the service will be able to deliver up to 350 Mbps to each plane through a low-profile aero terminal.
