Kymeta’s u8 land mobile antenna has been selected to participate in the U.S. Army’s Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) satellite communications on the move pilot program. The program will assess communications solutions including the u8 antenna on select vehicles for battlefield network and command post communications. The ABCT pilot program will be led by General Dynamics Mission Systems department.

Kymeta’s u8 antenna was launched in late 2020, and it is a metamaterial-based terminal for land mobility use. Its electronically steered flat panel antenna platform can offer both satellite and cellular connectivity.

“Kymeta’s advanced technology has become an operational asset in many special operations units,” said Rob Weitendorf, vice president of Business Development for Kymeta. “On-the-move tactical connectivity is essential for combat teams during mission-critical operations.”
