Ovzon will provide satcom services to an undisclosed European NATO nation under a new contract announced Dec. 19 worth 240 million Swedish krona ($25.2 million). The contract includes satellite networks and mobile terminals and supports a NATO nation’s defense organization.
The satellite service includes the Ovzon-3 satellite, launched in early 2024. The satellite is designed to allow direct user-to-user connectivity without reliance on ground infrastructure.
The Swedish satellite operator stated that approximately 60% of the contract value is mobile satellite terminals. Terminal deliveries are expected to be carried out progressively during 2026.
Ovzon CEO Per Norén said the company enters 2026 with a strong backlog. Earlier this year, Ovzon received its largest contract to-date from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for an integrated satcom solution.
“We are honored to support this NATO country at a very important time when Europe’s collective defense capability is strengthened. Ovzon’s mobile satellite communications solutions are strategically vital for all types of customers with critical mission operations,” Norén commented.
