The Mission-Critical Technologies group of Comtech Telecommunications has been awarded $20 million in additional funding from the U.S. Army for a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) contract. The additional funding, announced earlier this month, is part of a $223.4 million VSAT contract that has been funded $214.9 million to date. The funding was received in the Fourth Quarter (Q4) of 2020.

“We are pleased that our government customers continue to trust Comtech to provide this mission essential equipment. We understand the critical importance of these Army units and our team is poised to execute these orders to support the rapid fielding,” said Fred Kornberg, chairman of the Board and Comtech CEO.

Also in Q4, the Mission-Critical Technologies group was awarded $8 million in additional funding for mobile satellite equipment for the Army. The previously announced three-year $124.2 million contract provides for sustainment services and baseband equipment. It has been funded $103.0 million to date.
