[Satellite Today 05-11-09] U.S. President Obama has proposed an $18.7 billion budget for NASA in 2010, a five percent increase over 2009, according to information posted on the White House Web site May 8.
The budget does not include $1 billion allocated to NASA in the stimulus package passed in February. Under the terms of the stimulus package, NASA is slated for an additional $2 billion in federal funding in 2009 and 2010.
The NASA budget also calls for continued development of its new constellation and for the formation of the a U.S. Human Space Flight Plans review panel, to be chaired by Norm Augustine, former chairman of Lockheed Martin.
