[Satellite TODAY 08-31-09] SES Astra signed an agreement to provide broadband connectivity to EuroSkyPark, an operator of mobile and fixed satellite communication solutions, SES announced Aug. 28.
SES Astra will supply connectivity through its Astra2Connect service, launched in April 2007. The company also will be providing technical support.
SES’ services will enable EuroSkyPark to offer a low-cost and bi-directional satellite communication service to the energy, transport and security markets, allowing these businesses to implement supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) solutions. SCADA is typically used to collect, monitor and control data, using satellite broadband connection for machine-to-machine communication.
Pricing for the service was not disclosed.
