[Satellite Today 03-31-09] Sierra Nevada Corp.’s (SNC) newly formed space systems business unit has begun operations, the company announced March 30.
SNC Space Systems will design and manufactures satellites, spacecraft subsystems and components, and rocket propulsion systems for defense, civil government, enterprise and international customers
The new space systems unit was established through the merger of SNC’s MicroSat Systems and SpaceDev, which was acquired by SNC in late 2008.
Former SpaceDev Chairman and CEO Mark Sirangelo is serving as corporate vice president of the organization.
