AvL Technologies: Focusing on Technical Excellence – Designs for Ultimate Performance
AvL Technologies designs and manufactures motorized, mobile satellite antennas that exclusively combine the original patented Roto-Lok® cable drive, world-class AvL carbon-fiber reflectors, and the unique one-button auto-acquisition controller to automatically locate and lock-on the satellite signal within minutes. With decades of satellite antenna experience (both on satellites and on earth stations) behind our engineering, AvL is the premier antenna-only manufacturer in the satellite industry, leading the way in producing mobile earth stations that are functional, reliable, and technically excellent.
Pointing Accuracy, Stability, And Speed Of Movement
The most important of specifications for a satellite antenna, particularly an auto-acquisition antenna, is the pointing accuracy and the stability and stiffness of the positioner under the most extreme environmental conditions. AvL created the original cable drive technology to provide the ultimate in precision and stiffness compared to geared drive systems. Unlike most other systems, the cable drive is free of backlash. It is a maintenance-free dry mechanism able to operate in a very wide range of difficult and hazardous conditions without degradation.
High Performance Carbon Fiber Antennas
These light-weight (yet rugged enough to drive a car over) carbon fiber reflectors maximize the superior performance of the cable drive positioner as well as make possible the unique packaging options for the flyaway line.
AvL has created a segmented 90X66 cm for the unique Carry-On/Backpack iSNG,1M segmented for use in case-based flyaways, backpacks. and tripod versions, 1.2M,1.6M, 2.0M and 2.4M solid for vehicle-mounted applications,1.2M, 1.6M, 2.0M, and 2.4M segmented for flyaway, SNG, and case-based broadband. The robust 2.0M reflectors, both segmented and solid, perform exceptionally with C, X, Ku, and Ka feeds. In fact, all reflectors are of accuracy to allow use at Ka band.
AvL off-set reflectors produce “text book” patterns with margin to 29-25 log ΘT curve required by FCC, IntelSat and other international carriers and are laser tracked at AvL’s test area prior to shipment to re-verify surface rms. â–
