The Regional Commonwealth in Field of Communications (RCC) has admitted Intersputnik as an observer, the satellite operator announced May 28.
The RCC, established in 1991, is composed of telecom administrations throughout Central and Eastern Europe who have joined together to foster cooperation among members, harmonize their networks and communications systems, coordinate science and technology policies, spectrum management and service tariffs.
Intersputnik, based in Moscow, is an international intergovernmental organization with 25 member countries that provides satellite services in more than 40 countries.
