Comtech EF Data Corp., will provide DirecTV Inc. with modulators and power switchers under a purchase agreement valued at a minimum of $3.5 million, Comtech announced April 18. Comtech will provide the satellite TV operator with DVB-S2 broadcast satellite modulators and redundancy switches throughout the next two years. DirecTV will use the components to power new high-definition (HD) TV uplink services.
