SES Astra has teamed up with conditional access (CA) vendor Nagravision, as SES Astra gets ready to launch digital TV services in Germany.

Nagravision will provide an end-to-end, turnkey CA solution for SES Astra’s new digital TV infrastructure, which will be available to broadcasters and facilitate the introduction and development of digital services. The Nagravision system will be scaled to support up to 10 million registered customers with the capability to increase the capacity.

Separately, SES Global announced that the company had issued an inaugural Benchmark Eurobond under its 2 billion Euros ($2.4 billion) European Medium Term Note program. The proceeds will be applied to refinance existing debt and for general corporate purposes.
