Satamatics, operator of Inmarsat D+ satellite-based micro telemetry service, said it now has more than 50,000 mobile satellite communication terminals operating over its worldwide network. The terminals are used to monitor the locations and security status of a variety of fixed and mobile assets globally. The company attributes its growth and sustained increase in satellite terminal activations, currently at more than 3,000 per month, to increasing worldwide need for national, corporate and personal security. The company said the key markets that have deployed its terminals include maritime, trucking, oil and gas, utilities and environmental monitoring industries.
