Stratos Global Corp. [SGB] launched its next-generation Stratos messaging solution that provides a platform for satellite-based maritime messaging and communications. Users now have access to a unified software solution that provides a single system to support e-mail, fax, telex and SMS messaging. The service features an enhanced data-handling capability and, according to Stratos, it will lead to a reduction in time and costs for ship-to-shore communications.
