National Guard Taps SkyPort, iDirect For Satellite Solution

SkyPort International and iDirect Technologies said the National Guard selected their joint satellite solution to provide an emergency communications network to Guard teams designated to assist civilian agencies during crisis- management events and terrorist threats. The contract calls for multiple fixed and/or mobile satellite links at 33 initial sites around the country to serve as a backup to terrestrial communications. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
