President and CEO Robert Sachs has advised the National Cable and Telecommunications Association that he will not seek to renew his contract, which ends in December. He did say in a June 18 letter that he would serve into 2005 if necessary to facilitate the search for a successor. Sachs said he based his decision on his waning desire to commute between Washington, D.C., and Boston every week as well as other personal considerations.
