Telenor Leases Bandwidth Service Canadian National DoD

Telenor Satellite Services is going to provide the Canadian National Department of Defense with a new variable bandwidth communications technology via satellite through a six-month agreement with the government entity. Financial terms for the pact, which began this month, were not disclosed. Telenor’s variable bandwidth service (VBS) combines the use of commercial modems operating via the Inmarsat Leased Satellite Network with Telenor’s latest communications software enhancements to virtually double the data speeds up to 128 kbps.
