Lockheed Martin Builds Second GEO Bird For JSAT

      Lockheed Martin [LMT] officials was awarded a contract to build a second A2100AX geostationary telecommunications satellite for JSAT Corporation of Japan. The bird, designated JCSAT-10, will provide communications services throughout Japan and Asia, and it is scheduled to launch in 2006.

      The bird will carry an undisclosed amount of Ku- and C-band transponders, and it will be located at 128 degrees E longitude when it reaches orbit.
