Aerkomm Announces Slew of Agreements with Global Partners

Aerkomm, which provides In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) for the airline industry, announced it has expanded its global network of connectivity partners to include Airbus, Republic Engineers Maldives, Onurair, Air Malta, and Global Eagle.

With Airbus, Aerkomm has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop a Ka-band antenna retrofit solution for Airbus aircraft. Aerkomm also signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Global Eagle to provide satellite-based connectivity and media to the company’s partner network, with Malindo Air, a Malaysia-based regional airline, as the initial target for deployment.

Aerkomm also announced that it has entered into MOUs with Republic Engineers Maldives, Onurair, and Air Malta to connect travelers over Europe and Asia. Republic Engineers Maldives will partner with the company to develop satellite-based connectivity and entertainment solutions to more than 50 resorts in the Maldives; Onurair, a Turkey-based airline, will collaborate with Aerkomm to offer IFEC solutions onboard its fleet of approximately 15 Airbus aircraft; and Aerkomm will also offer IFEC solutions on board Air Malta’s 12 Airbus aircraft.
