Japan Airlines (JAL) has agreed to install Connexion by Boeing‘s satellite-based mobile broadband service on JAL’slong-haul fleet of 68 aircraft. JAL is the Asian launch customer for the Connexion by Boeing service. Installations of the Connexion by Boeing equipment will begin in 2004, with passenger service expected to begin next year on routes originating from Japan to London. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
