Intuitive Machines has secured a two-satellite order for an unnamed commercial customer. The order is for two IM 300 platforms, the same platform that has supported Space Development Agency missions.
The company said that this award adds “a new market segment of customers” for this spacecraft platform, but did not share what type of application the satellite will serve.
The IM 300 platform is geared toward proliferated missions like the Space Development Agency’s constellation and designed for serial manufacturing. It will be built in the company’s satellite manufacturing facility in Palo Alto, California.
“This contract demonstrates that the IM 300 can serve multiple missions with various customers. The modularity of the IM 300 enabled us to scale its capability to support a heavier, higher-power payload class,” commented Chris Johnson, president of Intuitive Machines Space Systems.
This comes after a recent $600 million contract award for three commercial Geostationary GEO (GEO) satellites from an undisclosed customer that the company reported in its second quarter financial update.
Intuitive Machines’ satellite manufacturing business is the former Maxar Space Systems/Lanteris business. Intuitive Machines closed the acquisition in early 2026.
