U.S. space-as-a-service company Momentus secured a contract with Spanish space and science equipment company AVS for transportation and orbital delivery services in 2024.

Under the contract, Momentus will integrate AVS’ LUR-1 microsatellite payload with SpaceX‘s Transporter-11 mission scheduled for launch in the Summer of 2024.

LUR-1 is a mix of an in-orbit demonstration and commercial mission, and includes one of AVS’ VNIR imagers, designed to provide images to its clients. AVS said the mission includes subsystems propulsion technologies and mechanisms that need to be validated in orbit.

“We welcome AVS to Momentus’ customer roster and look forward to caring for their important payload from integration through orbital delivery,” Momentus CCO Chris Kinman said in the contract announcement. “The orbital delivery services we provide are enabling better access to space for small satellites, which are a backbone of the space economy.”

Momentus has been on a three-month contract streak. AVS is the company’s sixth deal since August, with other recent contracts including services for FOSSA, Aarhus, C3S, SatRev, and RIDE! Space.
