SES Awards Gilat Follow-On Orders for O3b mPOWER and SES-17

SES awarded Gilat Satellite Networks follow-on orders for the SkyEdge IV VSAT platform. The multimillion-dollar orders support SES’s O3b mPOWER constellation and SES-17, a Ka-band satellite which recently entered service

Gilat said these new orders, increasing SES and Gilat’s reach across multiple verticals, including maritime mobility, cellular backhaul, and fixed data. The SkyEdge IV platform will be deployed at additional gateways worldwide. The VSAT was designed for the evolving satellite connectivity ecosystem, to work across multiple orbits, with software-defined satellites, with use cases like fixed and mobile connections, 5G, and IoT.

Gilat announced the orders Sept. 6, financial terms were not disclosed.
