[Satellite TODAY 03-29-12] GNSS navigation product manufacturer IFEN has partnered with European satellite equipment provider Work Microwave to jointly develop enhancements for the NavX-NCS GNSS multi-frequency simulator, the companies announced March 28.
The NavX-NCS GNSS simulators are now available in professional and essential versions with the version-1.7 software upgrade. The unit features up to nine L-band frequencies and 108 channels designed to support the GPS, Galileo, Glonass and SBAS constellations, and provide GNSS signal capability for research and development applications.
The system also aims to deliver integration and production testing of consumer applications such as automotive satellite navigation, mobile phone apps, chip-sets and handheld personal navigation devices.
“The GNSS simulators with the version-1.7 software enhancement now feature motion models that simulate the motion behavior of any type of vehicle or vessel, including airplanes, trains, cars, trucks and ships,” Work Microwave said in a company statement. “The NavX-NCS platform also includes a two-year maintenance contract and the broadest range of frequencies and satellite navigation systems per chassis, as well as the flexibility for users to install software updates easily when they become available.”
