[Satellite TODAY 08-12-11] Mobile and fixed-site remote communications solutions provider Stratos Global has entered into an agreement with SkyWave Mobile Communications to serve as the first distribution partner for Inmarsat’s IsatData Pro products and service, Stratos announced Aug. 11.

            Stratos said it would market IsatData Pro to users in the government and land-transportation markets, and as a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) solution to the oil and gas and utilities sectors.

Stratos will integrate IsatData Pro with StratosiWare — the company’s IP-based fully managed end-to-end SCADA solution. “At any desired polling interval, the scalable StratosiWare service automatically interrogates SCADA field devices and transmits data via satellite, radio or microwave across the global StratosNexus telecommunications infrastructure to Stratos data centers worldwide,” Stratos said in a company statement.

            SkyWave and Inmarsat launched IsatData Pro to global markets Aug. 4. The service utilizes the global Inmarsat satellite constellation to provide remote management and communication with mobile and fixed assets worldwide.
