[Satellite TODAY 05-20-11]  Stratos Global has won a new communications contract with a major Indian shipping operator, the company announced May 18.

            It has been selected by the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) to deploy the Inmarsat FleetBroadband satellite communications service as part of an integrated maritime communications solution that will help the operator increase productivity and control costs.

            In separate Stratos news, the company announced that it is nearing completion of its deployment of the Inmarsat FleetBroadband satellite communications service on 55 commercial vessels for Harren & Partner Ship Management (H&P). H&P is a large European shipping company with a global fleet including bulkers, tankers, feeders, heavy-lift carriers, container vessels and dock ships.
