[Satellite TODAY 04-22-10] Global Satellite Engineering (GSE) has signed an agreement with Ocens Data Services to provide its SatCollect software to help Ocens reduce their in-bound call expenditure for all Inmarsat and Iridium satellite phone usage, GSE announced April 21.
    The SatCollect value-added service aims to allow satellite phone users to select one or many local phone numbers in 41 different countries that will terminate to their satellite phone. SatCollect customers then receive calls via a local number that has been forwarded from their satellite phone and charged for the local rate for that particular country to receive a call, as opposed to the satellite long-distance rate. SatCollect also eliminates roaming charges.
    “Many of our customers are inexperienced satellite users. It goes without saying that their friends, family and business associates are probably even less so. SatCollect provides the most intuitive solution to this problem,” Ocens CEO Mark Freeberg said in a statement.
