[Satellite TODAY 02-19-10] A strong fourth quarter helped Eutelsat post 10 percent revenue growth in the last six months of 2009, the company announced in its latest financial results, released Feb. 18.
    Eutelsat recorded revenues of 508 million euros ($695.7 million) in the final half of 2009, up from revenues of 463.5 million euros ($637.7 million) in the same period in 2008. The operator showed healthy increases across all of its segments, with video applications generating 361.4 million euros ($494.9 million), an increase of around 7.5 percent compared to 2008. Both data and value added services and multi-usage services showed double-digit percentage increases in revenues at 96.4 million euros ($132 million) and 44.4 million euros ($60.8 million), respectively.
    Eutelsat’s overall profits for the final six months of 2009 improved 3.5 percent to 139.5 million euros ($191 million).
