[Satellite Today 05-26-09] Two California residents, Tina Walker and Christopher Bayless, have filed a class action lawsuit against HughesNet in Oakland, alleging that the company falsely advertised its connectivity speeds between 1 and 3 Mpbs per second, but delivered much slower speeds.
The plaintiffs, which seek to represent 80,000 HughesNet subscribers in California, also allege that the company imposes low bandwidth caps and implements preventative measures to throttle users who exceed the limits.
