[Satellite Today 10-17-08] Paradise Datacom received a contract to supply satellite modems for the first phase of a large mobile telephone network expansion project in Asia, parent company Intelek announced Oct. 17.
The project, valued at $1.3 million, calls for modems to support satellite backhaul links in three phases before the end of March. Paradise Datacom will supply its Evolution modems configured with features specifically designed for cellular backhaul applications.
“We are delighted with the success of Paradise Datacom’s Asia-Pacific team as we continue to grow our presence in the Asia market,” Ian Brodie, CEO of Intelek, said in a statement. “The modem’s special features allow our customers to reduce physical quantities and improve system reliability.”
